Urgent Call for Panellists: The Struggle for LGBT Human Rights in Latin America & the Caribbean

LARO is currently looking for panellists to join a panel discussion on
the state of LGBT human rights in Latin American & the Caribbean.
Presentations in English or Spanish are welcomed.

Tuesday June 25, 2013  6:00 p.m. Location: 519 Church Street Community Centre, Room 200 (The Grand ball), Toronto, Ontario

The panel will discuss LGBT human rights in Latin America and the Caribbean where stigma, hate crimes, homophobia and transphobia, discrimination and human rights abuses against the LGBT population continue to be tremendous challenges. The panel will also discuss how such challenges can be dressed at the international level,
particularly after the huge achievement in Argentina’s Gender Identity Bill in 2012

Joining the panel is this year’s Pride Toronto International Grand Marshal, Marcela Romero, an inspirational activist from Argentina and founder of REDLACTRANS (the Latin American Network of Transgender People).
